Composites Thermal Solutions

The i-thermal team provides a bespoke solution designed to meet individual process demands for composites. We investigate thermal production problems, understand the issues, evaluate how best to solve them, design an optimum and practically based solution, and provide the equipment. We use a versatile electro-conductive textile (ECT), made by GORIX Ltd. The textile is durable, power efficient and highly controllable offering a versatile heating medium to meet many industrial applications. Our busbar technology allows the devices to operate in the temperature range -50°C to 500°C with power densities in excess of 1.5 W/cm2. An important capability of ECT is its even distribution of temperature across its surface, vital for tight quality control during many production processes. Some of our innovative solutions are listed below:

• Heater Blankets – large sizes up to 2m long; insulated or ultra-thin (for use under bagging film).
• Heated Rolls – conformable, self-weighted devices in form of a roll with or large flat for contact heating or repairs.
• Versatile Ovens– bag ovens for flat objects; pack-flat ovens for convenience; lightweight warming ovens.
• Mould Tools – integrally heated composite tooling; externally attached booster-heat patches.
