Assystem Selected as a Strategic Engineering Services Supplier - January 2005

As a result of a group effort by many individuals across Preston, Bristol and the Isle of Man, Assystem has been selected as a Strategic Engineering Services Suppler to Airbus UK.

The fact that Assystem is one of only five UK strategic suppliers, significantly reduced from around 32, and one of 23 trans-national strategic suppliers, is a fitting tribute to the commitment and hard work of many people in the organisation. Our engineering teams have consistently demonstrated their competence, both in Assystem facilities and on site at Airbus, and our management teams have worked hard to develop and strengthen Airbus’ perception of us, promoting understanding of the total Assystem UK capability.

As a strategic supplier Assystem should see its market share of engineering offload grow considerably across programmes such as A380F, A400M and potentially A350, as the stated intent of Airbus UK is not only to place 80% of its existing engineering work with strategic suppliers, but also provide the UK supply chain with the opportunity to bid for transnational packages from the three other partner countries.
