Several feasibility studies were undertaken to assess whether or not an aerodynamic spoiler could be applied to cover part of the front of the train.
The studies required the use of various evaluation techniques, including mechanism analysis, TRIZ problem solving, FMECA, life cycle and product unit costing in assessing such elements as reliability, stress, impact and vibration and safety.
The projects delivered mechanical and physical design solutions, cost studies to support business cases.
