Civil Aero Engine Ground Support Equipment and Tooling

Assystem provided a complete design and make service for ground support equipment and build tooling on a major civil aero engine programme. With a very aggressive schedule the client required a rapid team build up which included design, analysis and detailing skills combined with supply chain management of the equipment manufacturers.

Assystem created a dedicated team to provide a complete design and detailing service for the client. The integration of the design team with the client and supply chain management was controlled by an Assystem Project Team. Where additional engineering capability was required, specialists were utilised across various Assystem sites in the UK and for cost reduction purposes agreed elements were completed by a low cost team in India. All designs met the client's quality standards and were created using the latest Unigraphics software.

Given very short lead times, Assystem was able to create an effective team and by using its own specialist engineers it was possible to offer a value added service making a positive contribution to the first build of this aero engine programme. With its diverse range of engineering capability, Assystem has effectively managed the client's requirements across sites in the UK and India.
